Fall Semester 2021 Blog Post 3: Utilizing My Degree

     When it comes to my degree, one of the things that I wanna use my degree for is apply to jobs that are related to software development. I also have always wanted to get into mobile app development, so I can use from what I've learned throughout the Applied Computing program. In addition to that, because I am also into game development, I want to utilize my programming skills to be able to create my own games and to someday work for a potential video game development company. I enjoy being able to create my own programs and to solve real world applications, and I feel like within the program itself, it has taught me the necessary skills to apply my degree into job market. As I plan on graduating this fall semester, I want to reflect on all the hard work and time that I have put into my degree, and use it as a way for me to say "I worked hard to get to where I am, and I proved it through earning my degree". 

Fall Semester 2021 Blog Post 2: Reflections on my online presence

       As I am around the half way mark of this semester, there are some things that I wanted to share about my online presence. For instance, I am glad that I was able to create a simple website that displays my skillset that I can offer for anyone that is interested in getting to know me. In the beginning of the semester, I did not have too much of an online presence. As someone that isn't on social media, I did find the idea of putting myself online to be a bit nerve wracking. But as I was working on our previous assignment on creating our own website, I managed to feel a bit more comfortable with putting in my skill set and experience of my major. I find it pretty important, because this can be a gate way for anyone to get a potential job within their field, and if many people see the work and skills that you have, then it allows for many employers and anyone to be interested in who you are.
